To become a certified safari guide, you must complete a theoretical exam, followed by four weeks of training. Upon success, you will receive the TANAPA (Tanzania National Parks Authority) certificate. You can also participate in the safari guide training for only 14 days but please note that you will only receive the TANAPA certificate after the full four weeks of training.

This training is ideal for wilderness enthusiasts, safari travellers who cherish pure nature over luxury, adventurers craving a unique experience in the wild, students in need of a life-changing break, and individuals with a thirst for extraordinary experiences beyond conventional tourism.

Free time as a prospective safari guide in Tanzania

Nestled deep within the Serengeti, far from urban centres, our camp offers freedom to explore the grounds after a safety briefing. With no fences, encounters with the Big 5 (elephants, lions, leopards, buffalo, and rhinos) and other wildlife may occur. Please note, swimming in the river is not permitted for safety reasons due to the presence of crocodiles and hippos.

    1. Serengeti National Park

The Serengeti National Park is known for its impressive wildlife migrations. It is home to two million wildebeest, zebra and antelope in its vast landscapes. An impressive game reserve, it is home to Africa's legendary "Big Five" wildlife. Since 1981, the Serengeti National Park has held UNESCO World Heritage status.

A highlight of the Serengeti National Park is the annual wildlife migration: huge herds of wildebeest, gazelles and zebras make their way to the various watering holes, pursued by potential predators. The migration is considered one of the most remarkable natural events in the world, which makes the Serengeti National Park so popular. There are also around 3,000 to 4,000 lions, as well as many cheetahs, spotted hyenas and jackals, which can be admired at close range during safaris.
