Wilderness Experience Wild Hwange
Experience Zimbabwe's wild side - off the beaten track, at the rhythm of nature. The 12-day Private Wilderness Experience takes you to the remote Jozibanini Camp in the south of Hwange National Park.
Arrival in Zimbabwe
After your arrival at Victoria Falls Airport, you will be welcomed and then travel onwards with your group on a Mack Air charter flight around midday/afternoon. This small aircraft flight takes you low over the vast landscapes of Zimbabwe to the remote Libuti Airstrip – a taste of the wildness that awaits.
From there, you’ll transfer to Jozibanini Camp with your group.
PWE Wild Hwange
You’ll journey into a region where the wild is still truly wild. The days in southern Hwange National Park are unhurried, profound, and deeply connected to the rhythm of savannah life. You’ll be struck by the vastness and silence – a place with barely any people, yet full of rare and authentic encounters with nature.
On this PWE, you’ll get to know not just the region but also yourself on a deeper level.
Activities during the PWE
Game drives, guided bush walks, silent game viewing in the look-up-hide, visits to waterholes, spontaneous wildlife sightings and talks with conservationists - every PWE activity is designed to give you a deep insight into the regional wildlife and local life. In workshops on topics such as human-wildlife conflict or rhino conservation, you will gain exciting background knowledge.
No hectic pace, no rushing through - just a conscious experience of nature with time to pause and marvel.
Wildlife in Hwange National Park
Hwange is one of the most wildlife-rich regions in Africa. Especially in the dry season, hundreds of elephants gather at waterholes. But you’ll also find lions, wild dogs, cheetahs, antelopes, and over 400 species of birds.
Best of all, you’ll have plenty of time to observe them and learn from your guides about the animals and their ecosystems.
Accommodation at Jozibanini Camp
Jozibanini Camp is made for true explorers seeking peace and connection with nature. The tents are built on wooden platforms, each with a private bathroom and an incredible view over a nearby waterhole. You’ll sleep in a real bush camp – comfortable, but consciously simple, close to nature, and, if you wish, under the open African sky.
At Jozibanini, everyone meets as equals – guides, staff, and guests. A shared passion for experiencing and protecting wilderness creates a sense of community.
Leisure and dining
The open-air dining area is the heart of the camp – where you and your group come together for meals, sharing stories and experiences of the day. There is limited Wi-Fi, allowing you to disconnect digitally.
Power and lighting come from solar energy, with insect and mosquito protection readily available. The atmosphere: calm, personal, unhurried – just right to find your inner stillness in the wild.

1. Hwange National Park
The Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe is a jewel of African wilderness. Covering over 14,600 square kilometers, it hosts an impressive variety of wildlife, including herds of elephants, lions, giraffes, and zebras. The landscape ranges from dense forests to vast savannahs, and its waterholes attract numerous animals during the dry season. With its rich wildlife and breathtaking scenery, Hwange National Park is an unforgettable destination for nature lovers and safari enthusiasts.
Background on the PWE Wild Hwange
The Private Wilderness Experience "Wild Hwange" is far more than a safari – it’s a profound nature experience with real impact, shared with fellow nature lovers. With this journey, Natucate aims to promote conscious, nature-connected tourism that places protected areas and biodiversity at the heart of the experience.
Jozibanini Camp is situated in a region that was, for many years, almost entirely undeveloped. The return of sustainable tourism not only creates opportunities for conservation but also benefits local communities. In partnership with Imvelo Safari Lodges, it is ensured that proceeds directly support education, healthcare, and environmental protection initiatives.
At its core, this journey is about embracing a new mindset: not faster, but slower – more mindful – more meaningful. You won’t just observe animals – you’ll come to understand them. You won’t just go on safari – you’ll go on a journey of discovery that may just change you.
