Staying at Oddballs' Enclave

Location

Oddballs' Enclave lies deep in the heart of Botswana's Okavango Delta. It is located on the southern edge of the picturesque island of Chief's Island and is only 2 kilometres from the Moremi Game Reserve.

The Camp

Guest accommodation

The camp accommodates guests in five rustic safari tents, each with access to a private bush bathroom with bucket shower, flush toilet, washbasin and mirror. The tents are raised on wooden platforms and from the private small veranda they offer a wonderful view of the flood plains in front of the camp.

Central facilities

The main area as well as the guest tents are located on a raised wooden platform. Breathtaking views of the delta delight the guests who can enjoy passing game or the sunrise over the meadows from the camp’s veranda. There is also a bar and lounge with comfortable seating, as well as a dining area to share daily meals. Families with children of all ages are welcome in the camp on request. Due to the allocation of the guides to the guests, a programme tailored to children is very well possible here. Even small groups can rent the entire complex and enjoy an exclusive safari experience.

Activities

The activities focus entirely on the immediate proximity to nature. So there are no motorized activities, but guided walking safaris and tours in the traditional dugout canoe, the mokoro, or by boat. You can be out in the bush for a few hours in the morning or afternoon or book a tour of several days with overnight stay directly in the wilderness for an extra charge – pure adventure! It should be emphasized that one guide is responsible for a maximum of two guests and thus a very personal safari experience is guaranteed.

Highlights

Oddballs' Enclave captivates by its simple, rustic charm and the special proximity to the wilderness of the delta. The atmosphere is calm, personal and familiar. Activities are limited exclusively to game walks and boat or mokoro trips. These comparatively silent ways of exploring make it possible to get a particularly authentic impression of the African bush. Furthermore, the service is extraordinary, because only a maximum of two guests come on one guide. Each guide was born and grew up in the area and thus has the highest level of competence and expertise.

Animals

The Okavango Delta is famous for its spectacular wildlife. Four of the Big Five can be observed in the Oddballs' Enclave area: lions, elephants, buffalos and leopards. Also hippos are to be found more frequently just like crocodiles, giraffes and various antelope and reptile species. Last but not least, the region captivates with countless bird species – more than 450 have already been counted.
