You should rather be interested in nature and outdoor-life and be motivated to participate actively in the course programme. You also need a travel health insurance before departing to Canada.

Your off-the-grid-adventure in Canada

After your arrival at Vancouver International Airport, you spend a night in a local hotel or hostel. The next morning, an Express Shuttle takes you from Vancouver to your accommodation: a ranch a few hours north of Vancouver that serves as your base station. After you had lunch on the ranch, you get an introduction to the upcoming course programme.

Bushcraft course: You spend the following days acquiring all the skills that bring you back to the roots. During your training you find out how to work with nature instead of working against it, and this way you learn to walk across new, unknown terrain with confidence and without fear. An experienced guide accompanies you and teaches you essential bushcraft skills in practical classes – often by providing realistic scenarios – so that you will have gained a rich store of knowledge at the end of your course. With Canada’s wild nature as the setting for your training, this Wilderness Experience provides for an in-depth educational experience that helps you appreciate and use the resources of nature.

Survival course: As a participant of our survival course amidst the seclusion of the southern Chilcotin Mountains in southwest British Columbia, you experience a real survival training, in which you learn to make it through unexpected and risky situations in the wilderness. At the end of the course, you will have the skills and strategies as well as the necessary confidence to master almost every emergency situation in wild nature. Your outdoor training takes place under realistic conditions in the middle of the rough and diverse terrain of the southern Chilcotin Mountains, so that both your practical skills as well as your mental strength get trained.

Every participant receives a certificate after successfully completing the course.

Accommodation

Accommodation

After your arrival at the ranch you’ll meet your team members and head to British Columbia’s backcountry. Your experienced instructor will show you how to build shelters for longer wilderness stays in which you will sleep the following nights. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are prepared by the group and will be enjoyed either in the shelter camp or while being on a day trip.

Everybody interested in a Wilderness Experience abroad should be able to adjust to entirely unfamiliar standards of living in their future host country. Therefore, we would like to point out the importance of being flexible and adaptable regarding the accommodation and sanitary facilities provided by the project. Those are very basic and – depending on the project – cannot be compared to European standards. The equipment and furnishings are limited to a minimum; air conditioning is not available. Depending on your host country occasional power blackouts or water outages are quite common. Please contact us if you have further questions about your accommodation. We are pleased to provide you with comprehensive information since we would like you to feel entirely prepared for your time abroad.

Advanced Courses

Advanced courses:
Bushcraft and Survival training

If you want to take your bushcraft or survival skills to the next level, you can participate in our corresponding advanced courses. In both the advanced bushcraft and the advanced survival course, you can expand and improve your already acquired skills. The environmental conditions, under which your training takes place, may be constructed even more demanding. An experienced guide supports you and helps you to identify and improve weaknesses in your strategies. You get the possibility to discover your strengths and weaknesses in a demanding but safe environment, which is priceless for all your future adventure trips. The intensity of the advanced courses demands a bit more courage and confidence – but with every obstacle you overcome, you gain strength and confidence and experience a profound outdoor training.

If you’re looking for the ultimate challenge, we also offer the survival course in an extreme version. Acquiring new skills is not the main goal of this course. Your knowledge so far will rather be tested in real extreme situations. For five to ten days, your day consists of rough mountain weather, steep and rugged terrain, wild animal encounters, as well as the necessity to adapt to the given circumstances, to think outside the box, and to develop own approaches and solutions. Not only does this course test every aspect of your survival skills, but it also brings you to your limits and shows you who you really are.
